Know Thy Enemy - Seattle Sounders

Arguably our toughest test to the MLS season so far. Fitness is starting to come into play as we enter the second game of four in two weeks, after a wonderful equalizer from the foot of Eric Hassli against TFC in the Canadian Championship Wednesday night, then followed by todays afternoon match up with Cascadian rivals Seattle Sounders.

Post Game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs. Toronto FC, 05/16/12

Eric Hassli's late wonder strike put the tie back in the balance as we travel to BMO Field next week hoping to win our first ever Canadian Championship title against a Toronto FC side who only seem to show up during cup competitions. The opening 30 minutes we were treated to a display of attacking intent but our Caps dropped off and allowed Toronto to gain a foothold in the match.

Post Game Pint: New England Revolution vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC, 05/12/12

We got the combination wrong were the words from the Whitecaps after the 4-1 away loss at New England Revolution. A make shift backline showed it's inexperience by allowing four goals after so many clean sheets this season. Leaving DeMerit at home proved how integral he has been in keeping the backline in order. Post-game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. FC Dallas, 4/21/12

After the San Jose loss on Wednesday, we wondered aloud if the positive performance against the Quakes (despite the loss) was a harbinger of things to come. Turns out we were only half right. Although the result was great, the quality did of play did not exceed that of last week. Offensive chances were fewer, passes were not connecting, and three points were collected. Actually, the game was pretty much the opposite of the the San Jose game as the 'Caps were tight defensively and won, instead of creating lots of chances and losing.

Post-game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. D.C. United, 3/24/12

Week 3 came and went in a flash as the Whitecaps recalled the ghosts of last season in more ways than one. A home draw, a beautiful sunny day, and a boisterous crowd (although the latter has been the one constant since Day 1). The 'Caps made some strides with their offensive chemistry, despite not being credited with a single shot on target all game. More impressively, they held on for their third consecutive clean sheet in the back, which is a true testament to their commitment to team defense. The player ratings below reflect this as the...
