Welcome to the 2014 Season!

Happy New Year! Now, before you judge us for what appears to be a huge delay in spreading good festive wishes, you should know that we are referring to the impending beginning of the Whitecaps season, and not the turn of the calendar year.

Post Game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Chivas USA

The Whitecaps had come into the game against Chivas on the back of a dreadful run of games that saw them slip and slide down the standings. If they had any designs on making it back into the top five to earn a playoff berth they needed to start...

Post Game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Seattle Sounders

One of the most annoying things about the Whitecaps' foray into Major League Soccer the last three years has been the ongoing media reports on "records" for futility that the club currently holds. Since 2011, they have at one point or another been the team that has "never won on the road", or "never beat a Cascadia rival", or "never score won the UEFA Champions League". Yes, I said UEFA. Because that is how ridiculous some of these story arcs are.

Post Game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Sporting Kansas City

With another road win under their belt and a three game winning streak behind them, Vancouver rolled into Missouri to play against the poorly named Sporting Kansas City. The hosts may have been more sporting than Vancouver's Camilo tonight, but it did not net them three points.

The Whitecaps' Greatest Goal

It has been a quiet weekend in Whitecapville. The team was on a well deserved break after taking six points last week - which meant we had some free time on our hands. Did we take the opportunity to see the city, or spend time with family? Hardly. Instead we talked 'Caps (Note: we did not TALK IN CAPS LOCK. That would be rude).

Vancouver has had a lot of memorable moments in their three short seasons in Major League Soccer. While discussing the greatest goals in the club's history with friends there really was only one that came up repeatedly: Eric Hassli's match-tying blast on June 11th, 2011 in Seattle against the rival Sounders, that somehow was nominated for FIFA's Puskás award (best goal) yet lost out locally to Darlington Nagbe's strike in MLS' 2011 Goal of the Year Award. Embedded for your pleasure.

Post Game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. New England Revolution

When you are home with a 3-week old baby, the last thing on your mind is a post-game pint. A post-game glass of milk to accompany the little one maybe, but a beer may just put your sleep-deprived head to bed faster than it takes the Whitecaps to concede a goal these days.

Post Game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. New York Red Bulls

Everything was set up for a battling Whitecaps performance that would fall just short. Martin Rennie made a series of changes away from his best XI, having his hand forced for some of them due to injury, suspension, and call-ups from national teams. Darren Mattocks left to represent the Reggae Boyz...

Post Game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Portland Timbers

Reflecting back on the Whitecaps' unfortunate 2-2 draw with Cascadia rivals Portland, there were a lot of positives to review despite the frustrating result. The raucous crowd noise was inspiring with the Timbers Army only drowned out by the Southsiders, Curva Collective, and Rain City Brigade all in lockstep with each other. Vancouver seemed galvanized by this support...
