Whitecaps GameDay Gallery - May 18

Cascadia rival Portland Timbers arrived in Vancouver for a Saturday tilt with the Whitecaps accompanied by roughly 400 members of the Timbers Army. After a massive win last Saturday and a very important draw on Wednesday the Whitecaps were looking to keep building upon this positive momentum. Unfortunately, Major League Soccer officiating derailed the Whitecap's plans for consecutive MLS victories and left the homeside with just a single point after 90 minutes.

On a side note we also learned that Will Johnson, Canadian or not, is now a hated man in this city. Click through to see the gallery and some low-brow commentary!

Post-game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Chivas USA, 10/03/12

How about dem apples! At one point this season it took the Whitecaps eight games to score four goals. Putting four in the net in one game seems like something out of a dream, especially since they have not scored more than three all season long.

Post-game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. FC Dallas, 9/15/12

In the latest version of the Whitecaps' "biggest game of the season", our beloved boys in white and blue laid a big fat egg. Was it tactics? Lack of composure? Unskilled players? Or did the better team just win?

(Note, we said "slack", not "jack". Otherwise, that would just be weird). This week's post has highlights, videos, and an ode to summer.

Sad Ronaldo? What about sad Whitecaps?

Sure, Ronaldo is sad because nothing is going right for the spoiled brat who has everything. But his despair does not even compare to some of these Vancouver Whitecaps, who have REAL problems.

Alternate MLS Tiebreakers

The MLS released their tiebreakers last week and they do not help the Whitecaps at all. Our alternatives are much more just, and have the added bonus of stacking up in Vancouver's favour.

Post-game Pint: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. FC Dallas, 8/15/12

Yesterday was a tough day. As my favourite English team, Arsenal, allowed me the pleasure of seeing Robin Van Persie, the team's captain, leading goal scorer, and MVP (not to mention last year's Player of the Year), sold to one of the club's biggest rivals. Looking to the Whitecaps to salvage an otherwise dreadful sports day...

Vancouver Whitecaps to join MLS Masters Division?

If you read this headline and jumped to this article expecting an announcement of a new MLS league geared towards the elderly, I apologize for the misdirection. Well, I apologize moreso for your inability to interpret a tongue-in-cheek title than anything else, but it is still an apology of sorts. Anyways, if you have yet to hear the latest Whitecaps news, the Vancouver club has brought in seasoned defender Andy O'Brien from Leeds, presumably to provide cover for Martin Bonjour and Jay DeMerit at centreback. On the surface, it appears a sensible move as the...
